Playback skips constantly

Every couple of seconds, the playback goes silent, sometimes for a fraction of a second, sometimes for several seconds, then returns. My internet connection is robust; I've checked every setting I know to check; I've even uninstalled and reinstalled.

You might want to mention things like what MacOS version you're using, and check whether other streaming apps work properly.
