I wanted to test a native linux game with the steam runtime because almost doesn't render anything of the scene (it works in Wine however which is slower).
On Garuda Linux, I installed the packages "steam 1.0.0-78.2" and "steam-native-runtime 1.0.0-75.3".
I started the steam runtime application once, it did something in the background regarding the runtime, but since I have no account I did not login afterwards. I tried running a game with steam runtime before I opened the steam application and after but both times, it would not find the runtime.
I looked into your code and it expects a "steamapps/libraryfolders.vdf" but I don't have the "steamapps" folder.
My folder ~/.steam/steam contains another folder steam, ubuntu_12_32 (with runtime) and ubuntu_12_64 (with runtime) and many others.
I also don't have /usr/share/steam as a folder.
Do I really need to register and login to finish the installation? It seems like steam only creates these folders when I download a game or something.
I do not have Steam games and don't want to use Steam. So I hope there is a way without that.
Would it be possible to allow users select the path to the runtime manually, as an option?

Hey Heroic Gamers,
I wanted to test a native linux game with the steam runtime because almost doesn't render anything of the scene (it works in Wine however which is slower).
On Garuda Linux, I installed the packages "steam 1.0.0-78.2" and "steam-native-runtime 1.0.0-75.3".

I looked into your code and it expects a "steamapps/libraryfolders.vdf" but I don't have the "steamapps" folder.
My folder
~/.steam/steam
contains another foldersteam
,ubuntu_12_32
(with runtime) andubuntu_12_64
(with runtime) and many others.I also don't have
/usr/share/steam
as a folder.Do I really need to register and login to finish the installation? It seems like steam only creates these folders when I download a game or something.

Thanks
