Overview of feature request
Looking at the context module, they haven't had a release since February 2023 (and that was a release candidate). Their Drupal 11 issue has been RTBC for several months with no maintainer progress. The module is seeking co-maintainers. We need to evaluate our dependency on this module and what our path forward should be to allow Islandora to support Drupal 11.

What kind of user is the feature intended for?
The context module is already a dependency of the core islandora module.

What inspired the request?
Drupal 11 readiness

Next steps

We should identify potential paths forward for how to handle this dependency. Some options discussed at the last tech call:

  1. Use a patched version of the Drupal 10 module for Drupal 11
  2. Find a new maintainer for the context module, and get it Drupal 11 ready
  3. Find alternative approaches that offer similar value as the context module and integrate that into Islandora core (e.g. ECA)
