When running the game, having installed the Steam social plugin, I expect it to be visible in Game Options -> Social and green/running when Steam is open.
Actual result
The Steam social plugin fails to initialize, only using OpenTTD-Patches, but works if launched with vanilla OpenTTD via Steam. It's worth noting that the Discord integration does seem to work with both OpenTTD-patches and vanilla, so I'm not sure what's up with the Steam plugin specifically.
Steps to reproduce
Download the Steam social plugin and put it in the OpenTTD/social_integration folder in the home directory for your operating system
Launch OpenTTD-patches through Steam (I added a custom entry)
Open "Game Options -> Social" and observe that Steam is present, but shows "Failed to initialize"
(Bonus) Launch vanilla OpenTTD through Steam and observe that it is present and running, using the same plugin
I'm not sure how to get logs or debug further - if you have any guides on doing that, I'd be happy to help investigate.

I'm not a Steam user and don't have a Steam account. I'm not sure what this plugin is supposed to do on the Steam side. I'll have a look at the available documentation though.
Version of OpenTTD
v0.59.1, Windows 11 23H2
