Bug Report

Ubuntu Version: 24.04.1 LTS

Description

After installation, I am not able to boot into the Hyprland session. Stuck on a login loop when I input my password ( I did try selecting it)

The installation did throw errors, which I manually force installed. I also did the NVIDIA solution but to no avail. Tried the script multiple times on 3 fresh installations but facing the same issue. I'll attach my logs below!

on your attached error.log, nothing mentioned about hyprland...

suggest the following

on log in (GDM) press CTRL ALT F3
log in as user then type
Hyprland

show me output.

TBH, Ive seen lots of issues on nvidia 1600 series with hyprland..

But since you have igpu, suggest you try to boot on intel

Yeah, that's what bothers me.

I have attached the log below. If there's nothing I missed, I'll try a clean-install and avoid the dGPU.

hyprlandlog.txt

For reference, running 'HYprland' in the Ubuntu terminal while logged in through Wayland, gives me a weird Hyprland instance (half-baked) which runs from the terminal, attached SS below.

can you try this?

no need to reinstall

ctrl alt f3 after gdm

edit ~/.config/hypr/UserConfigs/ENVariables.conf

line 47 and 48 (remove # before)

on lines
env = LIBGL..........
env = WLR...

once done, save and reboot

try to log in...

if nor succesful, try again launching through terminal

need to see the hyprlandlog if some changes

Just tried that, I already had the WLR env activated, the log still shows the same error on output :(

dang... but to be sure, you remove the env for nvidia right?

because that is forcing to boot in nvidia

there are two wlr

one is no hardware cursor and one is allow software

but if those are done and still wont boot...

Im sorry, I cant think of anymore fix :(

first remove "#" from the below line and reboot if the problem still there then again add "#" before the below lines. The mentioned lines are given below

File Location : ~/.config/hypr/UserConfigs/ENVariables.conf

#env = LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE,1
#env = WLR_RENDERER_ALLOW_SOFTWARE,1
