When you load an animation (or when Blockbench does it automatically for you when you open a model), pre-existing scale keyframes are mistakenly set to uniform when they have different values on their axis (see the highlighted "uniform scaling" button in the video), but the values are still split up.
They do merge once you try to edit one of the axis. It also does it to keyframes you made by copying those pre-existing scale keyframes you have not yet edited.
