<h2>About me</h2>
<hr>
<p class="text">
I am a fourth-year Ph.D. student in the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
I am fortunate to be advised by <a href="https://web.eecs.umich.edu/~jag/">Prof. H. V. Jagadish</a>.
I am a member of the <a href="http://dbgroup.eecs.umich.edu/">Database group</a>.
<p>My current research focuses on data ethics: fairness, diversity and bias issues in data management systems.</p>
<!-- <p>I got my bachelor's degree from Peking University.</p> -->

<span class="highlight-text">Ordered Access: Keeping Data in Order from Exploration to Manipulation</span><br>
<span><b>UIUC</b>, advised by <a href="http://www.forwarddatalab.org/kevinccchang" target="_blank">Prof. Kevin Chang</a></span><br>
Ordering data is important for interactively exploring and manipulating data, to allow categorizing, comparing, and focusing on data.
Such order awareness for tabular data is fundamentally missing in relational databases.
To support ordered access in relational databases, we designed a framework to "mediate" between a user and database.
To maintain rank-to-row mapping, we propose an index structure, which is optimal w.r.t. both scale and dynamics of data, supporting ordered data access from read-only to write-mostly scenarios with significant performance margin from baselines.
