Hiya... first, thanks for the project. I'm gradually getting the kinks worked out with uploads to S3 and metadata and all that. Things are coming along... HOWEVER... now, the smaller images are, seemingly randomly, rotated 90deg.
Attached are the "thumbnail" processed through the library (with "VIEW") and the image just displayed directly.
Any thoughts on what might be causing that? It only happens on some images.
** UPDATE SEVERAL HOURS LATER **
So, it seems that there's shenanigans involving the EXIF data in the image, and that no libraries have been written to parse it that work on the server side and/or at all. They're all several years old. Sounds like the long and short of it, if you will, is that if the original width is greater than the original height, the image is rotated. That's... odd, since it's not clear to me why some are rotated and others not, but c'est la vie. Seems that when they're scaled, they lose that information, and you end up without the proper auto-rotation.
Interested if anyone else has run into this, though, it's not SUPER directly related to remix-image. Just something to be aware of, I guess, in the future. It appears to be a pretty common issue without a very good solution.
