PCB Revision 2 assembly #3
Comments
Oliver Marks skribis 2017-06-13 14:19 (-0700):
I have started building your opentilt platform, and got some v2 pcb's
fabricated, I notice your instructions only show version one.
Any chance of adding a pic of version 2 assembled, I have started to
put it together but something does not feel right.
Sorry, I've had other priorities and version 2 remain undocumented...

Can you confirm that the arduino should be oriented in this direction
and same for the radio module.
The devices should be mounted on the side that has the silkscreen
outline around the pins.
More importantly, it's designed for the Arduino Pro Mini, which is
smaller and does not have a USB port.

ah maybe thats where i am going wrong mine are arduino nano's I followed the silk screen but the arduino did not seem to fit, I may be able to float the nano as the pin arrangement looks the same as the mini it just has a few more. I have 10 pcbs so perhaps i will try one with the nano and see if it works. Thanks for the quick response and i can appreciate that you have not had time. |
I have the mini's now, do you have any recommendation on how to power the mini's now they dont have usb ? just asking in case you already have a neat solution ? |

I just soldered 2 dupont wires to a powerbank just like the one from
revision 1, and led them through a drilled hole in the side of the
powerbank. No more external wires!

cool, got one built now moved from hardware to software issues. do you have links to the libraries you used ?
Triedd downloading but obviously there are different versions so I may have different ones than what you used when you wrote the code. |
getting there now, code is sorted and uploaded, just need a few more components namely switch better leds and the batterys. thanks for your help you may get a pr in the future with some tweaks :) |
Got a couple of these built now but they are all flashing red 3 times, indicating there is an issue with the radio I have these which are the ones listed on your site i believe. Any suggestions, guessing you may have hit this as you have an error code for it, anything i should check before i enter a major debug session ? |

Those are the right ones.

First thing to check is whether they get 3v3.

You may be correct on the power, I will do some more testing I have one that actually works. Seems perhaps laptop usb and even the freshly charged battery's may not be quite good enough, but not all of them worked so i will re check the solder on the dud ones when i get a chance. cheers will let you know the outcome |

if you could supply or update gh-pages with an image of version 2 that would be great.
