I'm eager to be able to take advantage of the guarantees of semver with respect to compatibility constraints in the new Pkg. From the outside (modulo the breaking change in #290), it looks like there are no more needed breaking changes (from a quick glance through the issue tracker). Is there anything else that needs to happen before y'all would be comfortable declaring this v1.0 stable?

Not sure how many are coming on what time scale, but #227, #242, #290 are all likely to be breaking.

Thanks for reminding me about #290, I'll get that merged.

This issue is now discussed in #436, so it seems we can close this issue.
