Ender3 v2 4.2.2 STM32F103RCT6 memory size and risk of firmware lockup, potential thermal runaway and risk of fire

Hi all, I have seen a few posts on Facebook groups with regards to the MBs and creality have changed the CPUs to the RCT6 256k flash size and risk of firmware lockup, potential thermal runaway and risk of fire. Is this branch of marlin safe to use on this cpu? Eg is the firmware compiled for 256k or 512k boards?
