  • Currently a global hashmap is used for name resolution
  • Global variables can be assigned an id
    • Inline cache can store the id and reference directly, skipping the name lookup
  • Runtime will need to keep a central table for the global variables
    • Also mapping table containing all the name -> offset mappings
    • Processors can cache that table, reducing contention
