Describe the bug
The saved layout is only available in the case where it was defined.

Expected behavior
I would have expected to have a layout that can be loaded, equivalently to the filter.json

Hi @DanielAmsel Thank you for using OpenCRAVAT. Can you provide some more detail about your issue? Are you referring to the layout option when you are reviewing your annotated results? Did you try to create a layout, save it and the saved version did not reload properly?

Thanks!

-Jasmine

Dear @jasminebro ,
sorry that was too loosely described.

Yes I am referring to the layout option in the variant viewer (see screenshot).

The saved layout that I saved cannot be loaded in another run.

Best,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,
Thanks for using OpenCRAVAT. You are correct that a layout saved with a job stays with the job and cannot be transferred to new jobs. We have discussed creating a feature that would enable this, and we will put it in our work queue. Because we are a small team, we can't guarantee that the new feature will be available in the near future,

However, we have a related feature that you might consider using. You can create a "package" which is a collection of selected annotators, filters, and layout choices. Whenever you run the package, you would get the desired layout. And you can modify the filters after the job is run.

After building your package you can save it in the GUI with the icon circled below.

If you're interested in building a package and want additional support, let us know!
