The slide TCGA-44-7661-01Z-00-DX1.baf72abd-edb9-4f56-beb3-f5138aa50930 from the TCGA-LUAD dataset is being rejected when processed at 1.14MPP with the following message:
"0 tiles remain to extract features from after pre-processing. Continuing..."
However, at 0.5MPP, the slide is not rejected and the following log appears:
"Splitting WSI into 75254 tiles and Canny background rejection...
Finished Canny background rejection, rejected 29943 tiles: 8.30 seconds
Saving Canny background rejected image..."
The Canny-processed slide is then saved as an image with dimensions 12568x33288 pixels, but the entire image is completely black.
The summary then lists the slide as having failed processing under the statement:
"The following slides were not processed due to errors:"
It seems the slide was added to error_slides in wsi_norm.py, but no logging.error message was generated during the process, which suggests an inconsistency.
Notably, the slide should be rejected due to its poor quality, as it appears to be very blurry, potentially causing the Canny background detection to fail.
