As the field of science continues to advance, scientists need to be able to take computational strategies to solve increasingly complex problems.
I am a grad student at UNC-CH working on getting my Ph.D in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology co-mentored by Maria Aleman and Daniel Dominguez with an interest in differential splicing.
I received my A.S in computer science and my B.S in biology with a
concentration in Computational Biology in 2019, from the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI). During my time in undergraduate, I was a RISE scholar who presented my research at ABRCMS in 2018 and 2019. Along with research, I was a teaching assistant for Genetics and a Lab instructor for Intro to Computer Science and for Chemistry.
I am passionate about computer science, biology, and research. I am aiming to get my PhD in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics.
