While importing images in pLabeler information of the subject ID is not requested at the moment. However sub (meaning an ID for the subject from which the image was taken) is a requested field in the exported dataset.
For the moment a string corresponding to the day and time of exporting the dataset is used ad a dummy ID, but maybe having proper IDs would be beneficial for balancing the number of images taken from the different subjects.
It could be solved by getting an ID at the moment of frames importing. My problem with that is that I'd much prefer this feature not to be too destructive of the general workflow. If I'm importing many images I don't want to be asked every time the ID of the subjects the image is taken from. Possible solutions are:
For videos:
Have an editable text field that, by default has the name of the video as an ID. This assumes either that all the videos come from different subjects or that the difference between 2 videos of the same subject (e.g., in terms of angle, lighting...) is big enough to be roughly the same as the difference between videos of 2 different subjects.
For images it's more problematic because the case where the user selects a single image or multiple images at the same time should be divided.
