At the moment the inventory tabs are unlocked with EXP. While functional I find that this system is not very versatile or engaging.
I would suggest a config option to turn off unlocking with EXP and make instead necessary for the player to craft/obtain a configured item to unlock the tabs.
This way it would become possible to use tab unlocking as a reward for completing selected tasks or quests, or as a challenge.
It could also be a bit more immersive: you could for example need to craft a "backapack/bag" item and it would unlock you additional inventory storage.
As an alternative a command to unlock tabs could also be used to the same end, since most mods involving quests and progression are able to run commands on task completion. It would just need a bit more set-up than an out-of-the-box functionality
