I'm facing the same issue here. |
@gabrielaz318 @deivissonpp @fabianodellano Here's an example of mine: Version 2.3000.1016106561, and it's working perfectly: This will help us narrow down the issue. |
2.3000.1016105567 Como atualizo a versão? Não aparece aqui a mensagem de atualizar. |
The version of my WhatsApp Web is 2.3000.1016106561 |
Same version here: 2.3000.1016106561 |
No need to update the version, we want the extension to work on older versions too. |
I'm not able to simulate this error, I'll try to emulate it on other notebooks I have here. I suspect that commit #83 may have caused the error. thank you all for addresing the issue and helping with the information! |
I'm still trying to identify the issue. I tested the extension on version 3.3.0 across three different notebooks, and everything worked fine on all of them. HP 256 G8
Dell Inspiron 15 3530
Acer Nitro AN515-43
I'll keep looking into this. |
How did I solve it? • I disabled all extensions; I re-enabled each of the extensions, the error did not repeat itself and WhatsApp Web remains blurred. And now WhatsApp Web is at version 2.3000.1016111442. I can't say if the cause of the problem was other extensions, a problem with Chrome or the version of WhatsApp Web. Anyway, thanks for your attention! |
It's late but I actually face the same issue, extension not working after it has been updated. Simple steps:
Thanks for your detailed solution too @fabianodellano |
That's exactly what I did and worked for me |
@aryomuzakki , I think users who haven't refreshed WhatsApp Web might still be seeing elements in their DOM with |
This solutions exactly works for me. |
owh right, should have also left the old code too for people who haven't update whatsapp. But it's actually a different problem, because in this issue nothing is blurring, this case was happen before too. |
Yes, I even wish I had made my comment earlier, but because I had the same thought as you I didn't. Since the update mainly targeted names/group names and profile pictures, it's possible that the error in the console related to the content script is causing the entire extension to stop working, rather than just affecting specific parts (just a guess). I agree that for future DOM updates on WhatsApp Web, we should keep the old code as well to ensure better backward compatibility. |
I posted a step-by-step solution in Portuguese on the Chrome Web Store, and it has already received 18 positive reviews. I suggest you guys also comment in your language or in English as a review (since most people don't use the support tab on the Chrome Web Store). This way, we can help as many people as possible. Thanks for all replies - I think I have found the problem and created a PR with the fix. |
Blur function stopped working, even with all options activated. I emptied cache, disabled and enabled the extension. I uninstalled and reinstalled it and it no longer blurs conversations, photos, names and text boxes. Option to blur when idle is not active. Even activating it, it deactivates itself again. Print attached.
