We can't change the name of an existing instance in manageiq. #22821
Comments
Think this will be resolved by ManageIQ/manageiq-ui-classic#8954 |
The name comes from the provider, so even if we did allow changing it, then next refresh would put it right back. If you want to rename your VM you need to do it on the provider side. That being said, we can change this into a feature request for being able to rename a VM from the ManageIQ side and have it posted as an operation on the provider. cc @agrare |

@GilbertCherrie did we end up adding this feature? I thought we added a way to rename a VM. |
I think it was removed in this pr:

Oh, right, and that led to #21510. So we have rename, but right now only for VMware. |
I'm considering closing this as a duplicate of #21510. |

Hi @Fryguy,
In ManageIQ, there was an option to Edit This Instance, but we can't edit the name of the instance.
Kindly help us to resolve the issue.
