It would be great if the user would not have to edit the MANIFEST.MF, but could write an import statement such as the one for ecore models.

Currently there is no verification if the requested packages are found. The user sees an error when the MANIFEST.MF gets marked. Opening a new issue for that usability enhancement.

Content assist will not be possible so far, as we would need to import all the packages as project dependencies which is not feasible.
