from survey: The main thing that is holding me back from switching completely over from Jupyter notebooks is the lack of an option to connect to a remote kernel. In my daily job I run all the computations on a remote server.

Should be addressed by microsoft/vscode-python#79

  • Add a command "Type in the URI for the Jupyter server", with options for "local" and ".
  • The URI value is saved in a setting "python.datascience.jupyterserveruri".
