Evergreen WebView2 Runtime installer can be downloaded on the WebView2 developer and consumer site. Currently, elevation is required for successfully installing the runtime, since the runtime is being installed per-machine. We have heard a lot of feedback and requests for waiving the elevation requirement. Targeting early to mid December, the installers will be updated so that if they are invoked without elevation, the runtime can be successfully installed per-user, and may be automatically replaced by a per-machine installation later if a per-machine Edge Updater is already on the device (which should be the case if you have Edge Stable, Beta, or Dev channel installed). If the installer is invoked from an elevated process, it will still install the runtime per-machine. Your existing WebView2 installation workflow should continue to function. See Distribute a WebView2 app and the WebView2 Runtime for more details about WebView2 installer and distribution.
I will update the thread with the exact installer update date and the WebView2 runtime version required. Thanks!
