Hi all,
there are often questions which DSC version(s) can be used in the MDS.
As of July '21 there are versions 4, 5 and 6 available in the DSC Github Repository.
Since all of these DSC versions are compatible with the central MDS Broker and the DAPS you can use any of them in the MDS.
But please note that DSC v4 is not able to communicate with DSC v5 or higher and vice versa. That means, if you connect with a DSC v4 you will be able to register at the MDS Broker and you will be able to communicate to other DSC v4 connectors. But you will not be able to communicate with other participants using DSC v5 and above.
To achieve the highest compatibility with your connector you should use the latest DSC release version available.
The DSC is under active development at the moment. Some DSC features needed for milestone release 2 of MDS in October will be finished during the next weeks. New releases (with version numbers >6 probably) will come.
Regards, Sebastian
