MechJeb Version (DEV RELEASE)

2.10.0.0-1001

KSP Version

Stock 1.10.1.2939 de-de
Making History 1.10.1
Breaking Ground 1.5.1

Description

I took Island Runway 27 and was heading toward Desert Runway 18 at an altitude of 6000 meters with engaged Aircraft autopilot. Assuming it will slowly decent to the target altitude of the 1st waypoint I engaged Aircraft approach and autoland roughly 70 km north-east of Desert Runway 18. But it instandly droped to the target altitude of the 1st waypoint even though we had plenty of time and still a lang way to fly. This caused a lost of the airplane as the airplane was not able to catch out the high negative vertical speed and would have crashed into the hill north-east of the desert runway.

Replication Case

Didn't expect that so I was not able to capture a video or something else. In case you need one please leave a comment. I was flying a version of my K-5 Pigeon as I do in most of my videos. I don't know if there is something like a safe waypoint to approach the airport at an higher altiutide in case aircraft approach and autoland gets engaged far way from a glide slope or the first waypoint.
