How to build for desktop?

Several features (such as recovery key importing) are not available from the browser.
I cannot find any documentation on how to build for desktop.
Somewhere on the project's website, I saw something about the desktop version being deprecated, however that can't be the case since the features are missing, and you guys provide a EXEs, DMGs, and AppImages in the releases.

Please provide steps on how to package the full featured application for desktop.
