The change in gw parameters didn't work described above because the restart files with:
don't have the variables
double FRONTGF(pbuf_00058, ncol) ; double FRONTGA(pbuf_00058, ncol) ;
Output these variables with a one day run f.e30_cam6_4_036.FLTHIST.ne120_L58.001_restart with
use_gw_front = .true.
Then I added these vraibles to the original restart file:
ncks -A -v FRONTGF,FRONTGA f.e30_cam6_4_036.FLTHIST.ne120_L58.001_restart.cam.r.2000-01-02-00000.nc f.e30_cam6_4_036.FLTHIST.ne120_L58.001.cam.r.2003-07-01-00000.nc
