Need

The NCPI participating platforms have multiple search platforms which take different approaches to search and operate over different datasets and different methods of access. Data consumers and even NCPI members may have a difficult time discovering, accessing, and using each search tool in context.

Approach

To address this we will create a catalog of the search tools offered by the NCPI platforms and document:

  1. Search tool name
  2. Platform
  3. Creator
  4. Overview of the general search technology/approach
  5. Paper describing the tool/approach if available.
  6. Overview of the type/sources of data available (e.g. consortia)
  7. URL to the tool.
  8. URL to tool documentation.
  9. Document how to get access if required
  10. APIs and links to API documentation (authentication, queries, response format)

As the list is generated it will be added to the NCPI portal.
