GCC 14 will likely be used on some systems in spack-stack 1.9.0. We should add GCC 14 to our CI tests, and preferably at least one older version since compatibility varies and we support a range of versions across platforms (any given Ubuntu version seems to provide three consecutive GCC versions, so most likely this will involve versions 12 and 14, which in turn requires ubuntu-24.04). I'll create issues for individual repos.
