How to better convey planning / design reference information

Consider these documents

• Configurations doc https://github.com/NUKnightLab/SensorGrid/blob/master/CONFIGURATIONS.md

They are very much draft-level documents and are probably already outdated. The configuration information is also a bit unwieldy and does not account for some current issues like compatibility between modules.

How can we better represent this information to make planning a sensor grid as simple as possible?
