Hi,

it would be great if we could configure an internal DNS name.

Situation with only one external name if system is connected by WiFi (e.g. on a remote access point):

  • traffic goes from WiFi connected devices by WiFi to the router which holds the external IP address and the external DNS name
  • then the traffic goes from the router to the NextBox again traveling by WiFi
-> the WiFi traffic is twice the traffic which would have been necessary and both connections interfere with each other
Only solution right now is to connect the NextBox by wire directly to the router.

Pros of having a 2nd, internal name:

  • the traffic would directly go from WiFi connected devices to the NextBox
  • no need to configure an external IP / DNS name if not necessary for the use case

I know this is for special use cases only but it would really help in those cases.

Thanks & Regards,
Gebhard
