Unable to further edit PDF form subsequent to initial creation via .docx template. #1044

ONLYOFFICE connector 9.5
ONLYOFFICE Document Server 8.2 (docker, community edition)
Nextcloud 30.0.2

Issues:

  • no "Open in ONLYOFFICE" file context menu
  • not "editing pdf by default" as noted in v9.5.0 changelog.
  • always opens existing PDF form in Nextcloud PDF viewer.

Use case:

  • Nextcloud user creates new PDF form via .docx template.
  • Nextcloud user enhances existing PDF form. (Not possible currently).
  • Nextcloud user shares approved PDF form with customer via e-mail (preferably in 'Form Filling' mode - this also does not function as described in the 'Advanced document permissions' section).
  • Customer completes fillabel form in browser and submits form changes using 'Save' icon.
  • Nextcloud user is able to subsequently view completed form as well as update incomplete form fields.

High-level investigation to date:

  • Nextcloud 28: "Open in ONLYOFFICE" file context menu available.
  • Nextcloud 29: "editing pdf by default" active. Unfortunately this setting also opened the form shared with the customer via e-mail in the ONLYOFFICE editor - not desirable.
  • Nextcloud 30: Can't edit existing PDF form - always displays form in PDF viewer.

Impact:

  • Users are unable to use Nextcloud-ONLYOFFICE system PDF form functionality.

Any guidance greatly appreciated.

Same Issues here on:

  • Nextcloud 30.0.2
  • ONLYOFFICE Document Server 8.2.1.38
  • ONLYOFFICE Connector 9.5

Would it be possible for you to check if the issues persist in your cases with the latest build from the "develop" branch? You can use the latest artifact for this: https://github.com/ONLYOFFICE/onlyoffice-nextcloud/actions/workflows/artifact.yml

Hi Sergey,
Sadly no change.
The only way to open PDF with OnlyOffice is to go to the ONLYOFFICE Settings Page -> untick the pdf format box -> then via the context menu "Open in ONLYOFFICE" is available.

So, after updating the Documentserver, reinstalling the connector and deactivating the "PDF Viewer" App our Problem seems to be fixed :)
