Hi,

I am exploring the possibility of opening an office document attachment from rainloop-nextcloud using onlyOffice, but unfortunately I am a bit lost in the source code to know where to start.

There is currently an option "Save to Cloud" that saves the attachment to Nextcloud, which I could potentially use, but I am not sure what do I need to be able to open this file in onlyOffice.
Maybe I could reuse some "sharing" functionality?

Any hints would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Hi,
You could try implementing the Viewer: nextcloud/viewer#271.
This way, files can be opened by any available application, so you will be able to open documents using the ONLYOFFICE editors.

Thank you for taking the time to reply :)

It seems there is some discussion about it in nextcloud/viewer#282.

In the meantime, I am also thinking if I can first save the attached file as a Nextcloud file and then, open this it in Onlyoffice in a new Tab, similar to what happens we right-click and select "Open in ONLYOFFICE" in the files app.
Right now, the only option is to save it, but then you have to manually go to files and open it. Would be nice if this could be done automatically.

Do you think this is feasible to do? What part of the code here could I adapt for this purpose?

Thank you again!

@CarlosPerezM
Thanks for your question. First of all, I would like to get a general solution from the Nextcloud team.
