At the moment it is only possible to create a mail merge based on a spreadsheet. However, if one wants to use the contacts which are already stored in the nextcloud contacts app, it is a big hassle.
Please consider adding this possibility which many users definitely would appreciate.

The Mail merge functionality is designed to create documents from templates by using a spreadsheet as a data source. Could you describe how exactly you see it working with the Contacts app? We just need a more detailed scenario to see if that could be done.
We store and manage all of our customer relations in the Nextcloud contacts app.
These are sorted in different groups like customers, employees, friends etc.
Now, I would like to create a Mail merge in form of a paper letter send by post.
I would like to create the address and title based on the Nextcloud database of my contacts group i.e. employees.
At the moment it is only possible to create a mail merge based on a spreadsheet. However, if one wants to use the contacts which are already stored in the nextcloud contacts app, it is a big hassle.
Please consider adding this possibility which many users definitely would appreciate.
