OSVR Control does not detect the HDK #44
Comments
I got the exact same and it's anoying me so much. only thing I found is asking for a refund :/ |
Did this happen after trying to upgrade the latest version of the firmware? I believe the problem that you're experiencing might be related to either an incomplete upgrade or some registers on the EDID table of the HDMI receiver being corrupted. To verify if the upgrade worked correctly, please make sure you see an "OSVR Com port device" in your device manager when you connect the HMD.. |
I don't really know where it has to say "OSVR Com port device" I think you mean under the ports tab, right? in that case I don't see one. for the rest my OSVR is recognized under monitors and the audio... |
It looks firmware has a bug about USB(@hdk ver. 1.4). It ignores "USB unpluged or bus reset"(So, When USB repluged, it denies new address). Try unplug power. Then, replug it. |
Already tried that it seems that when I try to install the com port device I get error code 10 which is a Windows error, but I don't know how to fix it I did reset my PC 7 times now hoping it would work again. But it doesn't... |
Just an Update here after a while. The HDK was replaced, this now is no issue anymore. The HDK is detected ok now. |
This reddit thread describes an issue that definitely is worth more than a look especially so if faceplate has been removed from hmd at all. One of the lugs for faceplate fixing screw interferes with a connector on mainboard when removing/replacing faceplate. |
hello world, in first time escuse my english very bad. ( if you are french for reponce i'm happy ) But this morning, i make my upgrade firmaware with FLIP and osvr control like from tuto, the installation does't finish ( i think ) and now my screen ( in osvr ) is black.... but it is OK for windows, OK for ir cam, ok for cable, OK for usb, ok for detection cam, but osvr control say to me " unable to locate serial port" .... i look my device manager, osvr is in "monitor" (osvr hdk familly head mounted display), i was tested the metod with bouton 1 and 2 in front of osvr for found ATxmega256A3BU for FLIP but nothing new, it stay black and i can't make return.... what i can make for recup my screen ? my osvr is just 1 week i don't wan't make return to razer i wan't to play for the moment i just crying alone, i don't find solution on forums please help me. |
I am not sure what this is as I also talking to OSVR Support and also raised a Ticket with Razer.
The HMD suddenly is now showing any picture, it just sits there black. I am not in direct mode as I can see the HMD in Windows as an extended display.
However, also the OSVR Control does not seem to find the HMD as it just sits there with the circle and not finding anything.
What could that be? Any other ways to "find" the HMD and check if this is working somehow? I saw output before on the HMD and OSVR Control did see the HMD and updated it also.
