I wanted FAST to connect to SIMULINK, but when USING DOF, SIMULINK reported the following error:

Dear @lidongh123,

It looks like you are running the NREL 5-MW baseline wind turbine model. But why is the gearbox ratio (GBRatio) set to 1 in this model? (The original GBRatio for this model is 97.) With GBRatio = 1, the generator inertia unchanged from its original value (GenIner = 534.116 kg m^2), and the drivetrain torsion DOF enabled (DrTrDOF = True), the drivetrain torsion mode will be a very high frequency that would require a miniscule time step. Instead of changing the time step though, I would set GBRatio to 97.

Thank you for the reply.I am working on PMSG so the gearbos ratio should be set to 1 in this model.This error disappears when I changed value of value generator inertia to 2e+5 kg m^2.

Dear @lidongh123,

Makes sense.

Please note that to convert a model with a gearbox to a model with a direct drive would require increasing GenIner by a factor of GBRatio^2 and increasing the generator torque by a factor GBRatio based on generator speeds that are reduced by a factor of GBRatio.
