Feature Description

As a Data Subject,
so that I can exercise my data subject rights,
I would like to read a user-friendly privacy notice that explains how the openmined.org website collects, processes, and shares the data about my visit.

Is your feature request related to a problem?

I'm always frustrated when a site doesn't have a clearly accessible privacy notice. And if it does have one, I am frustrated if it isn't user-friendly.

What alternatives have you considered?

  • A clear description of why a privacy policy is NOT needed.
  • Cessation of any activity that generates network requests that could lead one to conclude that there SHOULD be a privacy policy

Additional Context

This screenshot shows too many network requests that are happening on a site without a privacy policy.

Hey @ddcv, you're totally right, we do need this. Truth be told, aside from minor copy edits, this website hasn't been updated in years. We're working on a project to totally redesign the site from the ground up and this, of course, will be an integral part of our plan. We simply haven't had the time or the people to do this.

If you'd like to create a PR to add a privacy policy you're welcome to do so. Quite frankly, we're not doing anything with the data on the website. And I'm not aware that we are specifically collecting anything. Any cookies or other digital indicators are not ours - we do not use them for anything. But yeah, we have a YouTube video and a few other things that may perform tracking behind the scenes. This isn't ideal, but it was how things were originally made. Sorry about the mess!
