Do you plan to update this to conform with draft-ietf-httpbis-message-signatures? Or do you know of any alternate efforts?

We will likely wait until the draft is accepted before attempting to incorporate more recent changes into a published version. I would suggest forking the repo for now, and if the draft is accepted in future, you're welcome to PR those changes back to this repo.

This is just to avoid too much unnecessary breakage whilst the draft is still in flux.
