I just stumbled upon this post and I also use a 2.1A USB power bank. Could this be the reason why it doesn't work? https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/rascsi-pis-and-cheap-psus-a-cautionary-tale.39567/ |

Welp, I think the 5v rail on my Pi Zero W is busted. Can somebody confirm how many amps need to be fed to the USB port on the side of the RaSCSI Reloaded board so that it does not draw current directly from the Pi and bust it? At 140$ a pop, I would not want to fry another one. |

Hi!
I just acquired 2 RaSCSI Reloaded (RaSCSI Zero v1.0) boards. I flashed an SD card with 2022-10-21-RaSCSI-v22.10.01-lite.img then I installed the newest PiSCSI software following the instructions on here.
Then I soldered the termination (TERM) and enable (ENB) pads on the back, attached it to the Pi Zero W, booted it up by itself, checked the web interface and all seemed to work fine so I attached it to the SCSI port on the back of my Macintosh IIci (that has an internal Quantum HDD) then I powered on the Pi and the RaSCSI, waited a minute then powered on the Mac IIci, but it wouldn't boot. All it does is flash the [?] icon as if there was no hard drive at all. If I unplug the RaSCSI from the SCSI port on the back of the Mac IIci, it boots normally from the internal HDD.
I had a couple questions that the guide did not cover so I'm not sure what's not working:
The guide states that the Mac IIfx needs a black SCSI termination adapter to be moved from the motherboard to the external SCSI device. Does the Mac IIci have this sort of thing too?
Is there a SCSI jumper to change in the Mac IIci on the motherboard to allow RaSCSI to work from the SCSI port on the back of the Mac?
There is an USB port on the side of the RaSCSI Reloaded. The first time I powered it on, I did not realize I needed this. Could it have fried something not having an USB lead plugged in that port? (only the 3.3V LED was fully on, while the 5V was very dim) Note that after realizing I had to connect that USB port for additional power source, both the 3.3V and 5V LEDs are fully on.
My Mac IIci internal HDD is on SCSI ID#0 and the Mac itself is on SCSI ID#7. On the PiSCSI web interface, I can see that ID#7 is reserved and nothing is listed on ID#0, is that correct? I tried to attach System 7.5.3.hda to ID#6. Is that correct?
Does anybody know what I could try to make it work with my Mac IIci? I do not necessarily want to boot from the PiSCSI, but I would like a drive to appear on the SCSI bus. From there, I can manage the software part by myself, no problem.
Thanks for your help
