Might make sense to use the same names as uname -m, e.g. i386, x86_64, arm, aarch64.

aarch64
Although e.g. dpkg --print-architecture uses arm64 instead of aarch64.
dpkg --print-architecture
arm64
There might be some value in having commonality within different bit widths on the same architecture.
