Qubes OS version:

R4.0

Affected component(s):

Qube Manager - Dom0 updates via GUI

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Open Qube Manager > right click dom0 > Press "Update qube"

Expected behavior:

The GUI for updating dom0 works without issue.

Actual behavior:

  1. A window pops up titled "Dom0 qubes-qube-manager" and says "Please wait for the updater to launch"
  2. Shortly after the sys-firewall update downloader launches and says it's downloading updates.
  3. The window from 2 closes and the window described in 1 still states the same thing and remains open. I let it sit there for a while and nothing happened. No logs that I can find in dom0 or sys-firewall (which seems to be fine because CLI updates work).

General notes:

  • Updating via CLI with sudo qubes-dom0-update --clean functions as usual.
  • My Qubes is up to date with all stable packages except it has updated (possibly not stable) packages from qubes-dom0-security-testing. Although, the Qube Manager is from stable.
  • After force closing the window and rebooting, Qube Manager automatically opens on boot. If you run the updater and you force close it for example, 3 times, Qube Manager will open 3 times on boot.
