[Feature request] Trim spaces and new lines in certain text fields

Quick summary

At the moment, pasting text into the text fields in the network configuration leaves line breaks which are hard for certain users to notice. It's only until they open the custom configuration .yml file or notice that there's a tiny gap in the text field.

Details

This isn't really a critical bug but it would be a nice UX improvement as there have been more than a handful of people I've had to help with this issue.
