From the BI forums:

Is there a way to customize the message sound? The old one was nice, the new one is... not.

Idea could be to add call alert profiles "none" (no sound), "vibra" (current sound) and "tone" (akin to in-game notification sound), selectable on both Tablet and Android. A icon in the header could signal the current state.
