soundflower fails to install on macos big sur

I downloaded the .dmg file opened the .pkg, all seems good up to the point where after doing everything the installer says the following:

I'm experiencing the same thing. I don't see any options to trust the software.

Big Sur removed the ability to use legacy 3rd party kernel extensions. Until this extension is re-written using Apple's new APIs, don't expect it to work on any newer releases.
