Just looked into superset a little

• they now use echarts as their default plotting library
• echarts already provides this https://echarts.apache.org/examples/en/editor.html?c=geo-seatmap-flight
• does not look like a massive stretch to write a custom plug-in for this esp b/c it supports SVG https://echarts.apache.org/en/tutorial.html#SVG%20Base%20Map%20in%20Geo%20Coords%20and%20Map%20Series
• ... and there's a Python version (admittedly all docs in Chinese) https://github.com/pyecharts/pyecharts
