With the changes and features added through the release search ui, a revision of the design of datasets list is needed.
Below is the first proof of concept of the page to start the conversation.

Thanks, Max. Here is my comment:

When checking which datasets I have, I see I have my first 500 out of 32328, but then I see just right if this number 32328 these arrows to the left and the right in the same intensity. I would then I assume one can also go back by clicking on the left arrow. Either I would

  1. gray it out if the dataset displayed are the first 500, ie going back is not possible or
  2. number the datasets in the list

I would be much in favor of adding 2), but probably the combination of both of them makes it crystal clear.
