V 6.16.1 file renaming time too long

Changing the extension of a file on the SD card can take a long time, sometimes 30 seconds since the latest version 6.16.1. For example, changing travsimp.mp4 to travsimp.pdf, or vice versa. With the previous version, this was not the case, instant. As it didn't work instantly, after several tries on the same file, it completely disappeared from the SD card! (unimportant file).

This is a subfolder of less than 10 items. The folder itself has less than 100 items.
The described problem does not exist with the Android file manager and not with the previous version of Simple File Manager.

In fact, after tests, it seems that since v 6.16.1 (last) the problem is much more global for me : the time to modify the name or the extension of a file is very long whether the file is on the micro SD card but also whether the file is on the internal memory of the smartphone. Can you reproduce?

Reinstalling the previous version fixes the issue.

I strongly suspect that the use of this version sometimes causes the SD card to be disconnected under certain conditions of use which are poorly identified on my part.
