Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to message you on discord, and if there's a server I'd love an invite. I have a very cool suggestion borrowed from a great NDS game: "Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes"
In this game, by pressing a button immediately after a random encounter is occurring you can evade the encounter, allowing you to essentially run away immediately without having to load battle screen and hit "run", which is a huge quality of life upgrade. This could be tweaked such that clicking the right button at the right time gives you a chance of running (same chance you would get by clicking "run").
This QOL enhancement would be even cooler if during the random encounter it should a mini icon of which pokemon is ambushing you, or leave it as a mystery ??? if it's a pokemon you've never encountered before.
Essentially the mechanic is very similar to the fishing mechanic in HGSS, whereby you get an alert within a small window of opportunity and if you don't press the right button at the right time the random encounter occurs just as it would normally.
This is great for grinders such as myself, helping skip a lot of boilerplate, but also adds a fair amount of strategy by getting to pick your battles wisely ;)
