Basically godot has issues dealing with loading PackedScenes when the scene has signals attached to the root object. When loading it can hook those signals to the parent. This bug/comment useful reference godotengine/godot#48064 (comment)

I think I have a fix for switches but if we have something more problematic that we can't restructure an engine fix has been tagged for v4.4.
