Best way to still enjoy types source maps in a monorepo?

Using this lib in monorepo makes it loose the types source maps that are necessary to have a great IDE experience.

How can we palliate that?

I'm thinking about pointing the files with source maps and only before publishing, edit the package.json in CI to change the types property.
