I did just did a test on Windows 11 and Syncplay 1.7.1-RC1 (via VirtualBox) and selecting File -> Open media file opened a dialogue box which allowed me to select a file that then opened in my media player. If you have anti-virus it might be causing problems by putting Syncplay in a sandbox or it might be caused by running Syncplay as an administrator.

The shared playlist worked for me as well. If you have problems it could be an upstream issue between Windows 11 and PySide relating to you running Syncplay as an adin. See: #623
